About West Falmouth
A quaint seaside village, West Falmouth was first settled in 1660. Historic houses and buildings line the main street through town. Unlike other parts of Cape Cod, development in West Falmouth has been limited and the town is a peaceful place to visit. The Great Sippewissett Salt Marsh, Oyster Pond, West Falmouth Harbor and Chapoquoit Beach are just a few of the natural sights near our house. The stunning Shining Sea Bikeway is about 1/4 mile away, running between Woods Hole, Falmouth, West Falmouth, and Silver Beach. There are various small shops in town, from antiques and icecream to gemstones and the West Falmouth Market where locals sit out front and enjoy coffee, sandwiches, bakery treats, and sea air. The town of Falmouth, with many fine restaurants, specialty shops, and a lovely village green is only 10 minutes away, as is Woods Hole, renowned for its scientific institutions. |
